Q&A with Terry

What do you love most about being a superintendent?

“Being a superintendent as long as I have allows me to bring my expertise and knowledge to every project. Pushing a job forward and completing it both professionally and personally gives you a sense of accomplishment and pride in what you do.”

What advice would you give someone who is new to the field?

“Be passionate about whatever you do and give it 100%. Get up and get your hands dirty. Construction is one trade robotics and AI will never be able to replace, and you’ll learn something new every day of your life.”

What’s your leadership approach on the jobsite?

“Motivation on a project starts with respect and compassion for your team and your subcontractors. I’ve been fortunate to persuade subs to get things done just by showing appreciation. Praising people for a job well done goes a long way in getting what you need accomplished.”

Thank you, Terry! Your commitment to excellence and team-focused leadership sets the tone on every EXXCEL jobsite. We’re proud to have you on the team.
