EXXCEL was selected by Sonoco to provide design-build services for the construction of a 142,230 SF industrial manufacturing facility that produces injection and blow-molded plastic products. EXXCEL worked diligently to complete the project through the wettest winter on record. Deadlines were met due to the successful collaboration of the EXXCEL project team, City of New Albany, and the New Albany Company. This project includes wet labs, offices, and meeting rooms. There are three 5,000-amp electric services, a crane bay, a positive air environment, a drive-in door, 32’ clear height at the eaves, an ESFR fire protection system, and 25 manufacturing lines. All construction was food-grade, and the building was designed for expansion and a goal of LEED® Silver
