EXXCEL was selected by SunOpta Foods Inc. to provide Design-Build Lease Back services for the delivery of a plant-based food manufacturing facility on a greenfield site south of Dallas, Texas.

Having been engaged during the programming stage, EXXCEL coordinated with the tenant’s specialty consultant to expedite the Industrial Shell scope through design, permitting, and construction, while also assisting with the land closing and financing.

The 285,000 SF facility, constructed with insulated site-cast concrete tilt wall panels, conventional structural steel, stainless steel-lined insulated metal panels, and a membrane roof system, is comprised of multiple special function units. These functional areas include a two-story office/employee services structure, 260,000 SF of 33 ft clear height manufacturing/warehouse space, a two-bay drive-thru raw material unloading building, the stainless steel clad silo support appendages, and a wastewater pre-treatment outbuilding.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT: Food Grade, Conditioned Storage, Cold Storage
